In Person Registration June 7 〰️
Welcome to the Maywood Dolphins Swim Team website! The Maywood Dolphins Swim Team is a not-for-profit team competing out of the Maywood Municipal Pool. The goal of the team is to provide an environment where children can get physically fit while learning and improving the four competitive swim strokes.
Our season begins after the close of school in June and continues to the end of July or the beginning of August, depending on the level of success each individual swimmer achieves.
The swim team is open to swimmers ages 5 to 17. Practices are held on weekday mornings prior to regular hours of operation.
New members are always welcome! To be on the team, swimmers must be members of the Maywood Pool and pass the minimum skills swim test.
Ages 5-6: Must be able to swim independently 15 yards
Ages 7-8 must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards)
Ages 9-10 must be able to competently swim 25 yards of freestyle and one other competitive stroke
Ages 11-17 must be able to dive and competently swim 50 yards of freestyle and one other competitive stroke
The registration fee for the swim team is $25.00 per swimmer with a $60.00 maximum per family. An additional late fee of $10.00 per swimmer with a $20.00 maximum per family will be charged after the Parents Meeting. Checks should be made payable to the “Maywood Swim Team”.
The Swim Team Committee is a group of parents that work with the swim coaches to organize swim meets, prepare communication materials and help ensure the swimmers have a fun and positive experience. We are always looking for new members!
UPDATE FROM BERGEN SIX:
For Participant Eligibility, the amended language is as follows: "All swimmers must be general members in good standing of the swim club or membership pool (a “Club”) they represent. Swimmers may not have exclusive swimming/diving team membership privileges. Good standing with a Club via a monthly membership for the month of July is permissible for eligibility for Bergen Six Swim League. In addition, Club staff (i.e., management, lifeguards, etc.) are permitted to represent their Club as swimmers as long as their employment is 1) approved in the normal course of Club business and 2) in good standing for the month of July."
This does not apply to COUNTIES!! As per NJPMA, "Employment memberships to staff besides management will not be eligible for the NJPMA Championship meets."
